WINDOW STYLES
Casement Windows
Casement windows hinge at the side and crank outward. They provide unobstructed views top-to-bottom and side-to-side. They open completely, directing the flow of fresh air into your home.
Casement windows are perfect over a countertop or sink where you do not want to lean forward and life. They also work well on decks and patios.
Double Hung
Double-hung windows open vertically. They include a sash that slides up and down and do not use exterior space (seen as an advantage by most who choose them.) Double hung windows are a good choise next to porches or patios.
Awning Windows
Awning windows feature a top hinge and open outward. When positioned high on walls, awning windows catch a breeze from any direction and provide light to a room while maintaining privacy. Also, they can open slightly to allow ventilation during light rain showers.
Awning windows can be positioned in a row, column or against other windows, creating walls of light that are both beautiful and functional. They are often used to flank picture windows.
Gliding
Gliding windows provide a great choice when looking for a contemporary look in a more modern home style. They feature a top and bottom sash, with at least one sliding horizontally to open. They are generally easier to open than windows that crank to open.
Picture / Fixed
Picture windows are great for any home. They are stationary windows and are usually used to complement other windows. Make sure ventilation is not a concern if you choose this window type. They allow you to make the most of available light.
Bay
Bay windows are combinations of three or more windows and project outward from a room. They allow you to maximize space and take advantage of multiple views. They often add counter area to a room and make good use of available light and offer multiple views. Bay windows extend outward on the exterior of your home. They add a unique modification to the structure of your home.
